BTS’s historic megahit ”Dynamite” has set a new record by becoming the fastest music video by a Korean group to reach 900 million views on YouTube.
Released just 6 months before, YouTube views for this summer single song of BTS surpassed this milestone at 9:56 a.m. ETS, on Wednesday, according to Big Hit Entertainment, which is the band BTS’s managing agency.
This means that it took about six months, 16 days, and 21 hours to reach the milestone. The record was previously held by K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s single “Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du,” which had reached this feat in a span of one year, one month and 15 days.
This feat comes just 40 days after the music video of Dynamite hit 800 million views on the YouTube platform. This is the first song sung by a Korean group to reach No.1 on Billboard’s main single charts.
Dynamite, the famous English song by the popular K-pop band was released on 21 August 2020. It has broken many records since it was first released. It has broken various records on music streaming platforms and charts such as Spotify, YouTube and Billboard. This song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for 43 weeks achieving an amazing feat.
The worldwide pop sensation BTS has kept its dominance on the YouTube platform and other streaming services. This is their third music video to hit 900 million views. Its most-watched music video is “DNA” with 1.2 billion views, followed by “Boy With Luv,” featuring Halsey, which has 1.1 billion views.
The popular Korean band, BTS, has also received its first nominations in the Best Pop Duo or Group Performance category with number. and they are set to perform at the 63rd Grammys awards this Sunday with big shot musicians like Swift, Roddy Ricch and Billie Eilish. BTS is the first Korean nominee to perform at the coveted music Grammys awards.
