Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has been confirmed to play the lead female role in the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster movie of 2017, ‘Aruvi’, as announced by the producers on Friday. The news was shared by Taran Adarsh, an Indian film critique and trade analyst, on his Instagram handle. He revealed that the movie is scheduled to go on floors in mid-2021 and has been not titled yet.
The movie will be directed by E Niwas who has received the national film award for his 1999 film ‘Shool’. The remake film will be produced by Applause Entertainment, who has collaborated with Faith Films.
‘Aruvi’, the Tamil language original was directed by Arun Prabhu Purushothaman, with Aditi Balan in the main lead of the movie.
In the movie, Fatima will be seen as a fiery character. The story follows a girl, Aruvi, who is born and bought up in a difficult eco-social consumeristic environment. She is thrown out of her house by her parents for humiliating them and how she survives and overcome the challenges.
The Ludo fame actress is excited and thrilled to be a part of this new project. Fatima said in a statement about the movie ” I am glad Applause Entertainment and Faith Films have come together with E Niwas to make this great content and I am excited to embark on this journey. I am looking forward to diving deep into the skin of the character of Aruvi,”
The director E Niwas also commented on the story said, “Aruvi is not just a story of a hero. It’s a triumph over the labyrinths of life. It’s totally euphoric and a privilege to explore one of the most beautiful cinematic characters I have come across. Fatima is a befitting choice,”. He is honoured to film the Hindi remake of this movie.
While talking about this new project Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment said that the team is excited about the project, Aruvi is equally funny and ferocious as well as provocative, a social satire that stunned us when we saw it.
The upcoming remake will mark the first collaboration between Applause Entertainment and Faith Films.
