In 2005, the Tamil film ‘Ghajini’ catapulted Suriya into stardom, not just in Tamil cinema but in Telugu as well. Director Murugadoss, who helmed the movie, also became a household name in the Indian film industry. The film’s Hindi remake, starring Aamir Khan in the lead role, was released in 2008 and became the first Bollywood film to cross the 100 crore mark at the box office. However, despite the film’s success, fans have been eagerly waiting for a sequel, but Murugadoss has been struggling to come up with a suitable story.

Reports suggest that producer Allu Aravind is considering making a sequel to ‘Ghajini’ in Hindi, and has met with Aamir Khan multiple times in recent months to discuss the possibility. While Aamir had initially planned to remake a Hollywood film after his upcoming release ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, sources indicate that he is now keen on revisiting the ‘Ghajini’ franchise to revive his box office standing.

While Aamir is enthusiastic about the project, reports suggest that Suriya is not keen on making a sequel to his blockbuster hit. He is focused on other commitments and has no immediate plans to revisit the role that made him a star. Nevertheless, Aamir is said to be keen on exploring the character of Sanjay Singhania once again, and the proposed story is expected to follow his journey after avenging his lover’s death.

The film is expected to be an action drama, with AR Rahman available to provide the music. While Murugadoss has not yet been confirmed as the director, Aamir is reportedly seeking a successful project after the disappointing response to his last release. Whether ‘Ghajini 2’ will see the light of day remains to be seen, but fans are surely waiting with bated breath.
